Food Cures for Acne

Acne develops mainly due to hormonal imbalances (over production of androgens or male hormones), bad lifestyle habits or improper skin care. There are also many other possible causes like genetics or stress.
One of the ways to cure acne is to steer away from food that may cause acne or trigger outbreaks. Eating healthily and getting enough nutrients are important and can help in increasing your chances of improving your skin condition and cure acne in the long run.

Think Vitamin A, B (B for Beta-carotene), C.  Some studies show that eating foods high in Vitamin A, Beta-carotene and C can improve skin health. In fact, all these vitamins are readily found in vegetable s and fresh fruits. So, include vegetables, fresh fruits and plenty of liquid to your diet. Some good examples are carrots, dark leafy vegetables, broccoli, sweet potatoes, kelp and apricots.

Zinc- a catalyst in healing of the tissues and helps prevent acne scarring. A diet low in zinc may actually cause acne breakouts. Oyster is rich in zinc per serving more than any other food. It can also be found in red meat and poultry. Other good food sources include whole grains, fortified cereals, and dairy products. For oral supplements, the recommended dosage to combat acne breakouts:  20- 30mg per day.

Consumption of water daily plays a key role in clearing up acne. Not only is it good for your body system, it flushes down excess oil and definitely aids in helping your complexion. Learn from the super models. Make it a habit to drink 8 glasses of water or fluid every day.
